Title: Event Director

Position: Part-time/Year-Round

Time Commitment: 5 hours/week (Oct-May), 20 hours/week (June-Aug), 30 hours /week (September).

Compensation: Approx. $15-20,000 commensurate with experience

 Event Description: Mountains to Desert: Mountains to Desert is the single fundraiser each year for the Just For Kids Foundation, which provides essential scholarships, operating grants, program support, capital & start-up funding, and new equipment to deserving youth & youth organizations within the San Miguel Watershed including the towns of Norwood, Nucla, Naturita, Paradox, Telluride and all points in between.  Between $100-200,000 is awarded to non-profits and regional children each year.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate should be a highly organized and a motivated self-starter and possess a passion for the Just for Kids Foundation.  This candidate should also have a proven track record in managing successful events, expertise in marketing and social media, and exceptional communication and time-management skills.

 Overall Responsibilities:  Successfully plan and execute the annual M2D ride with a goal of increasing the number of riders, fundraisers and sponsors of the event.

·      Oversee the marketing and communications of the event: manage M2D website, grow and manage social media outlets and all printed collateral.

·      Implement and manage online registration and communication with riders.

·      Work with the JFK and M2D Boards to motivate and assist the M2D Riders in their fundraising efforts.

·      Increase and develop strategic sponsorships with bike shops, other century rides, regional areas.

·      Manage race day logistics including routes, aid stations, signage, packet pick-up, volunteers, venue contracts, F&B contracts and more.

·      Manage M2D budget
